Ready for story time? After being in the retirement industry for 10 years, Lee Bachu said “I can do this” and started her own pension consulting business and grew it to over 800 plans. She merged her successful business with URPC and became CEO of the entire organization to make transformative changes. And transformative she did. She flipped the business and the Company got sold up to Ascensus. Over the last decade, I helped over 5,000 financial advisors start 401(k) and Cash Balance plans for their business owner clients. I’ve helped consult on over $3B of retirement plan business which landed on the books of great financial advisors. In 2022, I burned out from travel and was frustrated with the corporate job. So, I decided to walk away from my high-paying job and join a small blossoming firm.
But, before I could, I had a hypothesis. I believed enhancing technology for Third Party Administrator’s (TPAs) would be an incredible asset to many. This fact would separate me from the masses and lead to exponential growth and success.
So, I joined 401kinabox in July of 2022. And the results have been phenomenal. In just 30 months we doubled our plan count from 1,500 plans to 3,000 plans. We accomplished this by building key relationships with Financial Advisors, CPAs, and Recordkeepers. Since that day, I've spent my time building 401kinabox to be the premier destination to start a retirement plan. My mission is to be the simplest place to start a 401(k) plan.

With over 20 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, Jeff currently serves as Head of Product & Operations, specializing in simplifying compliance and administration through innovative, tech-driven solutions. He has held a number of positions focusing on the many different aspects of a retirement professional ranging from very technical actuarial work to plan design consulting. His knowledge and experience in many different market segments led him to his passion in leadership and product development.
Jeff recently joined 401KInABox from Ascensus where he served as the recordkeeper's Vice President of compliance overseeing a team of more than 200 people and serving over 170,000 clients. Jeff's focus remains on helping both clients and employees navigate the complexities of retirement planning, empowering them to achieve their long-term financial goals.
